I have always loved the movies of Ray Harryhausen, they littered my childhood with their vibrant Technicolour monsters, and probably went a long way to turning me into the nerd I am today!  When I found out a local gallery was hosting an event featuring the original stop-motion figures used in films like Sinbad and Clash of the Titans, I had to submit a piece to the call for artists.
The painting is inspired by the skeletons from the movie “Jason and the Argonauts”.  It’s painted against blue screen with invisible hands posing the skeleton and an image of Ray Harryhausen himself in the background.  It was a lot of fun to paint, and I was thrilled that it was accepted into the gallery housed in the Arc in Winchester.  .
