Hello Lovely Folk,
We've just moved house, as some of you know. We are amidst chaos; however, birthdays wait for no man! I took a commission; I'm not sure it was the best idea in hindsight, but I did fancy doing it. Then we moved...
We weren't sure when it would happen (or even if), then all of a sudden we had a week to sort things out!! Needless to say, it was a challenge finding all my tools for this, but we got there in the end.
The Commission was for a linocut of Romeo and Juliet; I absolutely loved the Baz Luhrmann take on it, so that's the inspiration. There are more on the way following this one, so stay tuned.

You'll notice in the final piece that Romeo is framed in black and Juliet in white, ‘Two Households, Both Alike in Dignity’. That's not the case with the linocut block. It was a late decision as I realised a few things: a) The picture was slightly unbalanced. b) The print would have obscured a lot of text. c) Most importantly, it didn't quite fit the page! We'll call it an artistic choice and say no more...

I hope you like it.
We plan on doing a limited run of 100. If you want one (using your Patrons discount, of course*), we will hold the early numbers for you until our next show. This will be at Birmingham for MCM Comic Con on the 7-9th of August. Linocut patrons may be getting this in the next delivery; who knows (Pamela probably).
Cheers for now
