This detailed linocut has been hand-carved by the artist then used to create a linocut print on an upcycled Harry Potter book. Due to the nature of a linocut print and the different pages of the book no two prints can ever be the same! 

 
 The traits that get you placed into Gryffindor are courage as well as daring, nerve, and chivalry so its members were generally regarded as brave, though sometimes to the point of recklessness, as shown brilliantly by the characters Harry Potter, the Weasleys and Hermione Granger. The Gryffindor crest is part of a series that includes those of Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin. 

 
 Linocut or linoprinting is a method where the artist carves into lino and uses it to produce a negative picture. An impression of this can then be taken to produce the picture positive. It can be extremely difficult and frustrating as one mistake can destroy the work or leave you with an injury, the tools are extremely sharp!
