We made a last-minute decision to go to Gloucester comic con, we’d planned to take a weekend off house hunting but the wheels seem to be falling off that particular plan.
The event was at the Oxstalls sports arena, which is a pretty huge sports complex that has links with the University of Gloucester.
As part of the UKCGF family of events, this was supported by the Somerset Cosplayers who ran the Cosplay event. The standard of the Cosplay was pretty high with some truly outstanding costumes, Deet, from the Dark Crystal won the creative cosplay category, well done Marianne! Though there were a number of other remarkable costumes, including Calvin and Hobbes, Marty McFly and a Carbonite Han Solo.
The event was split over two halls, with a range of props in one hall and the guests in the other hall, the venue itself was well equipped to deal with a con this size and given that it was split over two sites means that it could well grow significantly larger than it is already.
Overall, it was an enjoyable day event.
